All of us have more things in common than we think. Too often we highlight our differences. If we look closely we’ll realize that we have more similarities than we do differences. The same hopes and dreams of a young man in the Virgin Islands, is often the same hopes and dreams of a young man in New York. The same wishes a mother in Kenya has for her children are often the same wishes a mother in Indonesia has for her children. One thing we all have in common is our humanity.
Today let’s be motivated to celebrating our similarities and all we have in common as human beings. A little motivation is all we need!
Happy New Year! It’s 2012! We’ve made it. No matter what we encountered in 2011 we are fortunate enough to have made it into 2012. A new year brings 365 days of possibilities, 8, 760 hours to try something new, or to try something again, 525,600 minutes to become a better person. Yes! 2012 is here, and the power to shape just how this year turns out is totally up to you.
Today let’s be motivated to embracing every single option that a new year brings, realizing that we have the power to create our own destiny. A little motivation is all we need!
Martin Luther King Jr. was spat on, beat, had his house set on fire. Yet, he never responded with anger, hatred or violence. Life throws things at us that are sometimes outside of our control. But we have the power to choose our response; and our response makes all the difference. Think carefully about how you will respond to the things that happen to you and the effect your response will have on the rest of your life.
Today let’s be motivated to choosing carefully our responses. A little motivation is all we need!
A pilot always knows his destination. A teacher always has a lesson plan. Where are you going and how do you plan to get there? We must set goals and make plans for achieving those goals. Write down goals and a plan for success. Goals can be short term and long term; educational, financial, or spiritual; simple or elaborate. Goal setting is a must. Goals should be clear and attainable. When we have reached one goal – set another one, and another one.
Today let’s be motivated to setting goals to achieve our purposes. A little motivation is all we need!
“Thank you” are only two words, but they go such a long way. No matter our circumstance, we have so much to be thankful for. As we move through each day, we should say “thank you” to the people who have helped us in some way. On a larger scale, we should thank the people who have made our lives, or dreams, our careers – possible. What are you thankful for? Who are you thankful for?
Today let’s be motivated to showing our gratitude, in whatever way we know how. Saying thank you is a simple first step. Sometimes a little motivation is all we need!
